Her Story

An artist since childhood, Kiki has always had a love affair with art and design. She received a BFA in Fashion Design with an extended minor in Textile Design from Savannah College of Art and Design. All set to pursue a career in fashion design, Kiki's plans were put on hold when she was diagnosed with clinical depression in the fall of 2015. After months of traditional therapy with very little results, Kiki decided to embrace her artistic background and attempt art therapy. A breakthrough was made, and ever since, Kiki has been painting her ongoing battle with depression, attempting to raise awareness about the condition and to destigmatize mental illness. Her paintings are highly texturized and often incorporate more than just paint. Kiki incorporates such textures because she believe the sensory experience gained from the surface of her paintings furthers her stories.
